The Hand Protection system on my trainer bikes is very important. They are one of the few items that protect the rider and hence my clients. I have spent some time modifying the KLE to protect IT and keep it going after minor incidents but the Hand Guards are very important. I have seen some pretty nasty things ooze out of a glove after a minor off or bounce simply because the riders hands were effectively the 'air-bag' between the bike and the tree, rock, ground, other bike etc.
It was therefore an easy choice of product here. The good old Aussie Bark Busters can't be beat. After some deliberation I decided on the Ego series as they have the protection factor but allow a reasonable view of the hands.
That is important as hand/finger placement, or the ability to see it is important in teh early stages of rider training. Not only for off road but for on road as well. SO since the KLE has smallish levers and the roost protection issue is not one for this aplication, they were the natural choice.
The Bark Busters some with mounting hardware that suits SOME applications. It all depends on what bike you've got and what bars you have on it. In my case it was cheaper to buy the set without mounting hardware as I have a set of Protaper bars and they require particular bar end mounts which can be bought separately.
A set has been ordered from my good friends at Team Moto Kawasaki in Maroochydore. Greta people and know their Kawasakis. I'll post an update here with som pics and any gotcha's I find so it might save someone some time/trouble.
Check back soon.
